Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Engineering and Technology(also called SDMCET), located at Dharwad in Karnataka, India, earlier affiliated toVisveswaraiah Technological University (VTU), Belgaum (Karnataka) is now an autonomous body. It is the first Institute of North Karnataka, India to get accreditation for all its courses by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, India. It was established in the 1979 CE and until the setting up of VTU, the college was affiliated toKarnatak University, Dharwad.
SDMCET, founded in 1979, ranks among top 5% (91 out of 1350) of Indian engineering colleges recently.[4] The college has been granted autonomous status.[5]
The SDMCET campus is known by name of Dhavalagiri.
Programs offered
The college currently offers four years ( eight semesters ) undergraduate ( degree ) course in engineering leading to Bachelor of Engineering ( B.E ) degree in following disciplines or branches.

- Electronics and Communication

- Chemical engineering
- Information Technology
The SDMCET also offers two years ( four semesters )graduate ( post graduate ) course in following specialisations.
- Digital Electronics ( E & C )
- Engineering Analysis and Design ( Mechanical )
- Computer Aided Design of Structures ( Civil )
- M.B.A The college has also successfully started course last year.

The SDM College of Engineering and Technology has a beautiful campus with spacious and ventilated class rooms. Each department or branch has its own equipped laboratories required under curriculum. Also every department has its own computer centre apart from centralised one. The Library has books and journals on various subjects taught in the college. There is an auditorium to conduct cultural and other events. The college has a play ground in front of boy's hostel. There is a canteen to cater students and staff.There is a post office within campus.
The college has extension counter of Karnataka Bank in the campus to serve banking requirements of students and staff. Also co-operative stores is in the vicinity to meet daily needs of students.

There are three hostels at present in the college campus.The residence in the hostel is optional currently.Two are for boys and one for girls.Shalmala was the first hostel to be built in the campus. Netravathi is the latest hostel in the campus. Both are for boys. Sharavati is the hostel for ladies.

The SDM College of Engineering and Technology is located at Dhavalagiri on the Dharwad - Kalghatgi road. The college is at a distance of 4 Kilometers from Dharwad Bus station. The Belgaum (Goa ) - Bangalore railway line touches the border of the college campus. The college is at distance of 2 Kilometers from Dharwad railway station and 15 kilometers from Hubli.
